Logo Glow

Upload your logo and get a version whose white shines brighter than the rest of the page on HDR screens, like the logos that pop on LinkedIn. The drawing does not change, only the way the file is encoded. Everything runs in your browser: your logo is never sent anywhere.

Loaded: Login.works logo (example)

Works best with a clean file: an SVG, or a PNG exported from it, at least 400 px wide. The glow also brightens the flaws of a blurry or heavily compressed image.

Pure white, for comparison

On an HDR screen, the white of the middle logo is brighter than the white square. On a standard screen all three whites look the same: the files still work, you just cannot see it here. A screenshot never shows the effect.

For LinkedIn

Upload this one as your company page logo. JPEG with the colour profile LinkedIn keeps.

For your website

For pages where you serve the image yourself. 16-bit PNG. LinkedIn strips its glow, so do not use it there.

Why it glows

HDR screens can show whites brighter than the white of a web page. The file asks for that extra brightness through its colour profile. On a screen without HDR, it falls back to the plain white of your logo today.

Uploading to LinkedIn

  1. Upload the LinkedIn file itself, as your page logo.
  2. Save, then reload the page before judging.
  3. Check on an HDR screen, brightness at least half way.

What breaks it

Opening and re-exporting the file in any editor, resizing it, compressing it, or copy-pasting it. Upload the file exactly as you saved it here.
